If you have a question about this talk, please contact nobody. BIDW03 - The Many Faces of Boundaries, Impurities, and Defects After motivating the study of quantum field theory on the rigid background of Anti-de Sitter space, I will explain how to assign to any massive QFT a UV and IR finite AdS partition function. I will then discuss the proposal that this quantity is monotonic under boundary RG flows that connect different AdS-invariant boundary conditions for the same bulk QFT .
