If you have a question about this talk, please contact nobody. TGM156 - Listening and Responding to Public Interest: A Mathsci-comm Network Event Many people are concerned about AI. They see it as a black box, making decisions which affect their lives, and over which they have little control. These concerns are to a certain extent justified, and extend across all levels of society, from school children to policy makers. In this talk I will show how maths underpins AI and gives us a way of understanding many of the issues associated with it, from bias to fake images, and beyond. I will also describe how we can communicate this from science festivals, to appearences in parliament. This talk is part of the Isaac Newton Institute Seminar Series series.
