If you have a question about this talk, please contact nobody. BIDW02 - Diving Deeper into Defects: On the Intersection of Field Theory, Quantum Matter, and Mathematics It is believed that topological defects in quantum field theory assemble into higher categories. These higher categories often carry additional structures, depending on the specific context. In this talk, I will address the question: What are the additional structures present on higher categories of topological defects for different tangential structures, such as orientations or spin structures? Along the way, I will review mathematical aspects of the study of topological defects and highlight open questions and problems. This talk is part of the Isaac Newton Institute Seminar Series series.
