The Maxwell Lecture is dedicated to ground-breaking theoretical & computational physics research and discoveries. The talk is held in partnership with the Cambridge Mathematical Society, the Archimedeans.

This year our speaker is Dr Stephen Wolfram, CEO of Wolfram Research. He is known as the creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language. In this talk, he will talk about the computational paradigm and how it applies very broadly to the foundations of many fields, as well as his journey in studying it and building technology with it.  He will also talk about how this had led to recent breakthroughs in understanding the foundations of physics, mathematics, AI, biology and more.

This talk is part of the Cambridge University Physics Society (CUPS) 2025-2026 Talks series.
