If you have a question about this talk, please contact nobody. OGGW03 - Spectral gaps Spectral gap properties can usually be reformulated in terms of fixed point properties for isometric actions or, equivalently, in terms of contracting properties of Markov operators. One can try to assess the `strength’ of these properties using the latter two reformulations. The talk shall overview various attempts to do this, within the setting of uniformly convex Banach spaces. This talk is on joint work with John Mackay, Ashot Minasyan and Mikael de la Salle.
