If you have a question about this talk, please contact nobody. BID - Quantum field theory with boundaries, impurities, and defects In this talk I will give a brief review of symmetric orbifolds in two dimensional conformal field theories. I will describe the topological defect lines associated with (non)invertible symmetries and some of their properties in these theories. I will discuss which of these TDL survive deformation of the symmetric orbifold by marginal deformations in the twisted sector. Some applications to holography will be discussed.
