BID - Quantum field theory with boundaries, impurities, and defects In this talk, I will present our “2D CFT factory,” a framework for systematically generating critical lattice models from topological field theories (TFTs) defined by spherical fusion categories. Critical points are extracted directly from categorical data and validated through the categorical-symmetry-preserving loop tensor renormalization group. This predictive approach not only reproduces well-known examples, such as the 8-vertex model from the $A_5$ category, but also uncovers new cases, including those built from the Haagerup category—highlighting a vast landscape of critical theories yet to be explored.
