BID - Quantum field theory with boundaries, impurities, and defects

In this talk, we review the recent developments in the application of analytic bootstrap techniques to defect conformal field theories. We briefly outline some applications and we focus on 1/2 BPS surface defects in N=4 SYM theory (the most notable example being Gukov Witten defects). We show how analytic bootstrap tools can be used to compute the holographic bulk two-point function.

This talk is part of the Isaac Newton Institute Seminar Series series.
