Canon Adrian Daffern explores the themes of exile in Ford Maddox Brown’s The Last of England.

Meeting in the medieval chapel of Michaelhouse, on Trinity Street, this lunchtime series of talks by the clergy of the University Church explores five works of art from the Fitzwilliam Museum. A hot vegetarian lunch will be served in the chapel.

  • March 11 Revd Helen Orr: Christ Refusing the Banquet, from Paradise Regain’d (William Blake)
  • March 18 Revd Devin McLachlan: The funeral pall of Henry VII
  • March 25 Revd Andrew Day: The Annunciation, (Dominico Veneziano)
  • April 1 Revd Shirley Holder: The Coffins of Nespawershefyt

These works are all on display at the Fitzwilliam Museum, and you are encouraged to view them in person, before or after the talk.
