Further detail
The Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CRASSH) announces the creation of “The Cultures of Climate Change,” a new, interdisciplinary research colloquium to explore the relationships between the arts, culture, and climate change. This group will explore the issues surrounding climate change from an aesthetic and cultural standpoint, giving voice to the growing number of artists, writers, photographers, journalists, film directors, architects and thinkers responding to this global phenomenon. It will also examine the potential for, and the challenges raised by, artistic and cultural responses to climate change, complementing existing approaches and analytical templates of the sciences, law, and policy. “The Cultures of Climate Change” will meet on alternate Mondays at 5.00pm from October 2007, in the main seminar room at CRASSH . Presentations typically last 45 minutes followed by discussion and an informal wine reception. Any questions may be directed to the convenors, Benjamin Morris (bam32@cam.ac.uk) and Bradon Smith (btls2@cam.ac.uk). Further information and regular updates can be found on the CRASSH website at: http://www.crassh.cam.ac.uk/events/2007-8/climatechange.html. 0 upcoming talks and 19 talks in the archive.
