Further detail
Christ’s College is absolutely delighted to be able to confirm that on 27th June, we will be welcoming an outstanding line-up of speakers at the commemoration of Lady Margaret Beaufort. Our special guests include, amongst others, David Starkey and the iconic actress Penelope Keith, portraying Lady Margaret herself. An exciting programme of tours, talks, displays and performance will be followed by Evensong in Chapel read by Professor Eamonn Duffy, featuring the Christ’s College Choir, and then a Commemorative Banquet in the Great Hall. Christ’s College has arranged this commemoration to celebrate the life of Lady Margaret Beaufort almost 500 years to the day since her death on 29th June 1509. In the spirit of her foundation, and the many subsequent benefactors who have enabled the College to flourish, guests are invited to support a fund for College History Teaching in her name in addition to the costs of the day.
