During the day there will be an introduction to the Strategic Research Themes at the Department of Physics, presentations from a range of staff on their fascinating research, key note talks on topics of international collaboration and a panel discussion and opportunity for questions with politicians, academics and business innovation leaders on the topic of local, national and international research strategy. There will be refreshments and networking opportunities throughout the day, kindly sponsored by the Cavendish Laboratory.

At the end of the formal programme there will be a “Happy Hour” event with the opportunity for a relaxed chat with speakers/colleagues, There will be (at least) a free slice of pizza each, with beer and soft drinks available starting at 50p.
