Office of Scholarly Communication

Add to your list(s) Send you e-mail reminders

The Office of Scholarly Communication runs training sessions and workshops for graduate students, researchers, PIs, librarians and support staff.

Scholarly communication is the process of academics, scholars and researchers sharing and publishing their research findings so that they are available to the wider academic community and beyond. Traditionally scholarly communication has occurred in the formal literature – in journal articles, conference proceedings, book chapters and books. However, the landscape is changing dramatically as researchers move towards digital and collaborative ways of working.

We cover themes including:

  • academic publishing
  • repositories
  • open research (open access publishing and open data)
  • research data management
  • research impact and communications
  • researcher online presence
  • the librarian as researcher.

We develop or commission workshops, resources and other learning opportunities in response to needs and knowledge gaps within the research community.
